Makers Club of New York Edge will make its debut at the 52nd  anniversary of the International African Arts Festival 2023 at Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn, New York from July 1st through July 3rd 2023. The Makers Club will offer free hands-on classes in sewing, jewelry making, and recycled crafts to middle and high school students. 

The New York Edge Pavilion, featuring the Makers Club, will be in the children’s playground located on the northside of the park along Flushing Avenue and across the street from the historic Brooklyn Navy Yard Industrial park.

Makers Club is an initiative to encourage students to consider technical or vocational skills as a career path. The pilot program started in September 2022 at MS 267K in Bedford-Stuyvesant (Brooklyn, NY) where students were introduced to business and entrepreneurship through both design and cultural diversity.
