New York Edge Middle School Chess Champs Bring Home Awards

Two young Brooklyn chess whizzes have been named national champions in this game of strategy. The students took home several awards at the 2024 National Chess Middle School Championship in Atlanta, Georgia earlier this month. The middle schoolers, both from I.S. 318 in Williamsburg, participate in New York Edge — the city’s largest provider of school-based after school and summer programming.
