Overview

Our kindergarten through 5th grade programs combine a focus on fun activities with literacy development, in a setting that emphasizes social-emotional growth.

Tutor counselors and specialists support students during the 3-hour activity intensive after school period. Children rotate from homework assistance, to literacy, to sports or arts activities. Similar to all New York Edge programs, the elementary school model provides weekend and holiday experiences. Many programs include a special 10-hour holiday schedule which supports the many working families in New York City and surrounding communities. Programs may also include enrichment experiences in coding, computer technology, STEAM and other projects that stimulate learning.

About New York Edge’s Champions Clubs:

The Champions Club, New York Edge’s flagship program, supports thousands of youth in over one hundred school sites throughout the five boroughs and Mt. Vernon. All New York Edge Champions Clubs offer a wide range of enrichment opportunities, including instruction in core academic subjects, as well as STEAM (an integrated approach to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), Visual & Performing Arts, and Sports & Wellness.  A focus on leadership supports social-emotional learning (SEL), designed to close the opportunity gap for our students. Understanding the different developmental needs of youth provides each Champions Clubs with the opportunity to be a positive change-maker for the school community. Champions Clubs are specifically designed to support students at each level of their education Elementary, Middle or High School.
